The Ásatrú Society of America

The Ásatrú Society of America is a professional organization of students and practitioners of Ásatrú in North America. Our mission is:

  • to preserve and promote the living legacy of pre-Christian indigenous wisdom traditions of Northern Europe through the practice and teaching of Ásatrú in North America;
  • to cultivate the “high-mindedness” (ON drengskapr) of the Northern warrior ethic upon which Ásatrú  is built;
  • to facilitate trust, communication, and mutual respect through ethical conduct among and between followers of the Norse “heathen” tradition;
  • to encourage growth, courage, discipline, wisdom, and frith (peace, harmony) among practitioners of Ásatrú;
  • to sponsor and conduct seminars, trainings, and provide other educational resources for the transmission Ásatrú principles and practices for the benefit of the broader “heathen” community.

Activities of the Ásatrú Society of America include hosting conferences for those building or leading local heathen communities, administering ceremonies and teaching ritual practices, developing training guidelines and opportunities for members in accordance with the mission of the organization.

Ásatrú is a living tradition rooted in an ancient Northern warrior spirituality. It does not preach. You must seek it out.

“With placid eyes behold us here, and here give us victory. Hail to the Aesir! Hail to the Asyniur! Hail to the bounteous earth! Words and wisdom give us noble twain, and healing hands while we live.”
